drawing on the best of the built environment
During the first two weeks of this studio, we engage in precedent analysis of great houses in history and in everyday houses as portrayed in design publications. This precedent project thus suggests the impact of explorations by famous architects and designers on our sense of what house forms should be like and what activities they should support. By investigating great houses, we walked away with structure knowledge from key residential buildings from before and during the twentieth century.
